At this year's NPC and CPPCC sessions, wu mingjiang, a member of the CPPCC national committee and former vice chairman of the Chinese medical association, submitted a proposal to "comprehensively promote the improvement, innovation and development of China's medical devices". The proposal puts forward some Suggestions on the basic research of medical devices, the construction of standard system, the effective combination of production and demand, and encouraging the development of domestic medical devices.
By the end of 2015, China had more than 14,000 medical device manufacturers, nearly 90 percent of them with a production scale of less than 20 million yuan, more than 300 with a production scale of more than 100 million yuan, and more than 2,600 capable of producing high-end products, wu said.
Relevant government departments have strengthened the top-level design, built a production-demand communication platform, promoted the interactive exchanges among production, learning, research and medicine, and made scientific and technological breakthroughs, so that a number of core equipment and key parts can be made in China, and the market share of some domestic medical devices can be effectively increased. At the same time, we will strengthen research on basic and important engineering technologies in the industry, and strengthen research on industrial application engineering technologies such as special manufacturing equipment, testing equipment, process technology, reliability research and stability research needed for the mass production of medical devices, as well as service capacity building.
